Ingam is run by one independent developer. Email gets read by a person, usually within a day.
Email: [email protected]
Telegram bot: @ingam_check_bot
Privacy policy: ingam.dev/privacy
When you write about a specific check, include the store's domain and roughly when it happened. Please don't send card numbers, order numbers or screenshots of your payment details. We never need them.
Common questions
Ingam didn't appear on a checkout page.
Open the Ingam popup from the toolbar on that page and press "Ingam didn't appear on this checkout". That sends us the store's domain so we can add that checkout layout. Some payment pages (for example a bank's own 3-D Secure screen, or a checkout inside an iframe from a payment provider) are not something an extension can stand in front of; Ingam checks the store before that step.
Ingam stopped a payment I trust. What now?
You're always in control. Press "Pay anyway" and the payment goes through as normal; Ingam remembers the store so it won't ask again. If you think the check was simply wrong, press "The last check was wrong" in the popup. Those reports are how the free seal gets better.
Does Ingam read my card number?
No. It never reads payment fields, your name, email or address, and it never reads pages outside a checkout. When you press a pay button it sends the store's domain and the total shown on the page, nothing else. The full list is in the privacy policy.
Why does the Chrome Web Store say Ingam handles "financial and payment information"?
Because Chrome counts the order total as payment information, and Ingam does send the total (to spot unusual amounts). It is a declaration about the amount, not about your card. Card numbers never leave the page.
Why does the extension need access to all https sites?
A checkout can be on any store's domain, so the script has to be present to notice a click on a pay button. On pages that aren't a checkout it stays idle and reads nothing.
Which stores does it work on?
Online stores in English-speaking countries first, including Shopify and other store-builder shops. Korean payment pages are on the roadmap. If a store you shop at isn't covered, use the "didn't appear" button above and it moves up the list.
Can I use it on my phone?
Phones don't let an extension stand in front of the pay button, so Ingam checks the link instead. Send the link to the Telegram bot, or share it to ingam.dev/check from any app.
How do I turn it off or remove it?
Open the popup and turn off "Check before I pay", or right-click the Ingam icon in Chrome and choose "Remove from Chrome". Nothing about you is kept on our side beyond the anonymous check records described in the privacy policy, and you can email us to have those deleted.
I run a store. Ingam flagged my site.
Ingam holds payments to sellers it can't yet tell apart from scam stores, most often because the domain is very new or the name resembles a well-known brand. Two things help right away:
- Tell us your domain at [email protected]. We review store reports by hand.
- Publish a small
/.well-known/agent-payments.jsonfile on your domain declaring where your payments go (email us for the format). It proves where the money goes, which stops "payment goes elsewhere" holds; it doesn't replace a history, so a very new domain stays on hold until it has one, or until Ingam users have paid there without problems.
